André van der Zande (born 1952) has been a member of the Council for the Environment and Infrastructure since 2017. He is a former director-general of the Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and secretary-general of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. He holds paid ancillary positions as chair of the Technische Commissie Bodem, an advisory commission on soil-related developments; chair of the Commissioning Consultation Body Management DSO-LV (Opdrachtgevend Beraad Beheer DSO-LV - Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations); and ambassador of ecological advice and project agency Natuurinclusief (Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality). Mr van der Zande holds unpaid ancillary positions as deputy chair of the board of the Nature for Health (NFH) foundation; a member of the board of the knowledge and innovation centre for peat meadows, Stichting Veenweiden Innovatiecentrum (VIC); and chair of the Dutch National Database Flora and Fauna (NDFF) foundation.
