Erik Verhoef (born 1966) has been a member of the Council for the Environment and Infrastructure since 2020. He holds a full-time professorship in spatial economics at VU University Amsterdam. He holds unpaid ancillary positions as a member of the Advisory Council on Traffic and Transport Models of the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management [Rijkswaterstaat], a fellow of the Knowledge Institute for Mobility Policy; a member of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation for Scientific Research on Road Safety; a figurehead of the Dutch Research Agenda’s Logistics and Transport Route; and an Adjunct Professor at Beijing Jiaotong University.
